This evening of storytelling will be emceed by the multi-talented and brilliantly entertaining producer and singer – Beverly Mickins
Beverly is the founder and co-producer of L.A.’s longest running storytelling venue The Story Salon in North Hollywood. Her many storytelling performances include her successful one woman show, “The Driving Piece.” Beverly also created the popular Atomic Lounge series where she combines her wonderful song stylings with her exceptional storytelling skills.
Cara Lopez Lee – Writer. She is the author of the memoir, They Only Eat Their Husbands and has performed at The Moth StorySlam, Unheard L.A., Storytellers Project, and Beverly Hills’ Greystone Theatre Performances.
Cara will share a story about her unexpected but welcomed love of lions, both stuffed toys and live.
Rick Hall – Actor, Writer and Producer. He has performed his one man show, “Pigboy”, based on his life growing up on a pig farm in Illinois. Hear more of Rick’s stories on his podcast “So Sez Rick”.
Rick will share a personal story titled “My Letterman Jacket” about his hopes of being “Cool” once he got his jacket – but things didn’t work out quite as he had hoped.
Katsy Chappell – Actress, Corporate Comedian and “quirky crafter”
Ty Fance – Author, Producer, Director. Ty has been a featured storyteller with National Storytelling Network, Storytellers Association California and Seattle Storytelling Guild Storytelling Festival. Originally from Houston, Ty’s stories feature his journey into and through fatherhood; reflections on marriage; and his colorful childhood – rediscovered. His stories are also featured in his book of autobiographical short stories entitled – Off My Head and Over the Fence.
Ty will share a personal story entitled “Aunt Maude”, about the mutually beneficial relationship between two mischievous ten year old boys’ and a mild mannered, shot gun toting elderly woman in their neighborhood.
Jamie Bridgers – Comedian, Writer. Jamie can be seen performing regularly at the long-running UNCABERET comedy showcase in Hollywood. Jamie has performed her delightful stories at numerous venues throughout L.A. including the Ice House Comedy Club and the Comedy Store.
